When the G-Twist arrived from Goodvibes, I was definitely a bit nervous about it. It is not large or small, I’d say it’s a good intermediate size ( it is 6 inches insertable, with 1.5″ in diameter). What made me a bit nervous was the ridges. Texture internally has been a bit difficult for me to accept in the past. While I like texture, I am pretty selective about it, and usually do not like texture which is really rough or too intense. Looking at this toy inside its cozy little box, it looked hard and not like something I’d enjoy at all.
Before I really get going on this review, I did want to mention that the toy is a darker pink in person than my camera shows. It is a gorgeous rich shade of pink, which makes me think of Kirby, truth be told. The toy is water resistant, easy to use, and has a dial base. It also comes with a packet of water based lube.
The lubricant packet is made by GoodVibes, and is water based as well as glycerin and petroleum free. I didn’t try it out because I have been really sensitive to most water based lubricants lately, so to be on the safe side I’m not trying out any new ones until I figure out the ingredient that’s bothering me. This lube has very few ingredients though, and they are:
Purified water, Sorbitol, Butylene Gycol, Polyquaternium 15, Methylparaben, and Proparaben.
The lube is compatible with all silicone toys, so it is a great choice for the G-Twist. As you can see in my picture above, the G-Twist arrives nestled in a plastic clamshell case. You could use the clamshell case or box (or both) for storage, if need be. I think that the box takes up a lot of space for that personally though. I just keep mine in my vibrator bin. Not that everyone has a “bin” for their vibrators. The toy itself is small enough that I think you could pretty easily get away with storing this in a dresser drawer if you were trying to hide it from room mates. Luckily, the sound itself is pretty discreet too, and if you were playing under the covers behind a closed door you probably would not be noticed.
While the texture looks scary, the modest girth of the toy, coupled with the flexibility of the toy make for a wonderful ride. Due to the texture, I did feel like I needed plenty of warm up before being able to play with this internally, but once I was warmed up, it glided in a lot more smoothly than it looks like it would. The texture makes playtime a bit more rough than I am used to internally, but not enough to detract from my session in any way.
As you travel along down the shaft of the toy, you reach a “ridge” which is intended to rub against the clitoris during play. I was surprised (happily) that I found the ridge to be stimulating and comfortable, when often nubs or ridges on the outside of toys feel painful to me. This one was great!
The shaft of the toy is easy to flex a bit with your fingers, and when the toy is inside of you, it will move with your body and shape instead of staying rigid and still. It is wonderful, and I had a lot of fun with this!
Because of the ridges at the base of the toy, I feel like you could probably use this for anal play too, but it’s not something I am personally up for. The toy is a bit too big and textured for me to have fun with it in my butt, but a more advanced anal user might light this one a lot.
The toy claims to be waterproof, but I’m not sure whether or not it is. Honestly, I have had toys with a dial base before and submerged them, and despite their waterproof claims, it never seems to work out. To be on the safe side, I opted not to submerge this, but I’m sure you wouldn’t have to really worry when it comes time to clean your toy. You can probably put this under running water with no issue.
The base is a bit strange compared with most other vibrators I’ve owned before. For one, the entire thing pulls out when you squeeze the sides where the dial is. You can put your four AAA batteries in, and push the whole thing back together to close it up. The dial on the front can be turned in either direction to get your vibrations where you want them. The toy isn’t the strongest, but, at about a 3 out of 5 in intensity, I find that it is more than enough to get me to that big O.
Cleaning the toy can be a bit of a pain, due to the ridges. They are hard to get really clean again, and I find I have to spend a lot more time than usual scrubbing this, just to get lube and girl juice off. You could always use a condom though, to make this step easier. Soap and water, a 10% bleach solution, or a toy cleaner are your best bets to get this good as new again.
This is a really great toy. It is well made, provides wonderful textures, and is built to last. I’m giving it five paws:Thank you so much, GoodVibes, for allowing me the opportunity to try out this toy in exchange for an honest and fair review.
