Gun Oil H20

Hits: 1

Sliquid lubes have been Master and my lube of choice for a long while now.  We really love the Sliquid Booty formula, and we haven’t been in a big rush to find another lube.  The last lube we tried was Maximus and we were really disappointed because it wound up burning my genitals like crazy – which (oddly) does not seem to be something anyone else I know who uses it complains about.  When it comes to lubes, I typically am one of those “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” types of people, but Master and me both had heard a lot of good things about Gun Oil, and we thought we would try it out.

One thing which has kept me back from trying gun oil is that, well, I thought it was oil based.  The name of the lube is very misleading.  There is a cool story behind it though.  Empowered Products (the company who makes the lube) says that during Operation Desert Storm, marines would masturbate with actual military issued gun oil!  One of those men, came up with the original silicone formula, and now there is this wonderful H20 version too!

As we all know, using oil on the outside (say for external male masturbation purposes) is not a bad idea at all.  But, using oil based products in either the vagina or the rectum can lead to problems because the body doesn’t deal with oils the same way it deals with water based or even silicone products.  So, I have always been told to stay away.  I know that Gun Oil comes in a silicone type, but the type I am going to be reviewing is Gun Oil H20.  Water-based lube lovers, welcome!

Gun Oil H20 comes in a cute bottle with blue and white lettering.  The lube has a long, clear cap on the top of it which comes off easily.  The bottle itself has a pop-top cap, and it is not difficult to get the lube out of it.  The lube has no smell to it at all, but it does have a very bitter taste – so if you’d like to perform oral sex in the same session as you are planning to use this lube, you’ll need to either use a dental dam, have oral sex first, or use a different lube.

One thing which I really like about this lube is that, while my preference for anal sex is absolutely still silicone lube – this is the closest thing I have ever felt to silicone lube while still maintaining a water base.  If I am working with a silicone toy, using this stuff for anal is a very close second for me.  The lube feels very “silky” in my hands, as opposed to most other water based lubes which just feel, well, wet.  This still will easily last twenty to thirty minutes without needing to be reapplied, which is wonderful no matter what kind of sex you’re having.

The lube contains:  Water, propylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium EDTA, panax ginseng root extract, guarana seed extract, oat extract, polysorbate-20, PEG-45, polyquaternium-5, citric acid.

As you can see, it does have a couple of preservatives, but it doesn’t have any glycerine or parabens, which, for me, is the most important part.  It’s also a pretty thin lube.  I do not like really thick formulas that feel artificial, but Gun Oil H20 feels very natural, thin, and wonderful.

Master and me both like this lube a lot.  It is not sticky, greasy, or difficult to get off (just use water), and it makes anal sex or play near my period a lot easier.  We’re going to give it five paws.

This lube was not given to us in exchange for a review.  It is a part of our own personal collection which we chose to review.
