Sex Toy Reviews

Tickle My Tush

I love anal play, at least to the extent I've experienced it. I'm not an advanced player by any means, and I've been working mainly with toys on the smaller side of the anal spectrum. When I saw the Tickle My Tush book on Goodvibes, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to expand my horizons, and learn even more about anal play. I've read a couple of books by Dr. Sadie Allison in the past, and for the most part found them enjoyable, but I think Tickle My Tush will be my last one. For the right person, this book would be amazing. For me? Not so much.

Something that I've come to accept with Dr. Sadie's books (this one being my third) is that they are most likely all going to have a hetero slant. This one, as well as the other two books I read by her did. While I am in a hetero relationship at the moment, I am pansexual, and thus I sometimes date different genders. To me, that was a little bit off-putting. Not only that, but I do find that Dr. Sadie has a tendency to talk down to her male readers, while praising her female readers for the same things she tells the male readers not to do. Some people may be able to overlook this, but I couldn't. I just kept shaking my head when I saw another male trampling.

Not necessarily a bad thing, the book caters mainly to those who are a bit nervous about anal play or who have never tried it before. This isn't really useful to me, as I have an active interest in anal play, but I can definitely see how this would make a reasonably good introduction to anal play and anal sex for an anal "newb". If you aren't 100% sure if anal is right for you, this is a good level zero.

Tickle My Tush

To get you started off, Dr. Sadie tells you about both male and female anatomy. She explains in friendly and not scary terms about how to go about initiating anal sex, she tells you things you absolutely cannot skip, as well as things you may have heard you must do (enemas, etc) which really are not prerequisites.

Her language may be a turn off for some. Personally, I find her tone to be overall fine with me, but some of her terminology (He-spot, instead of P-spot, O-rings instead of sphincter) to be a bit much for me. To me, O-rings are those little rubber rings that you put on a strap-on to keep your dildo in place, but to each their own. If you want a non-threatening intro, this could be it.

One thing that really bugged me reading the book was the section on anal hair. Dr. Sadie points out:

"Fur- It's cute on small animals, maybe not so much on your butt."

Hey, Dr. Sadie? Everyone has butt hair, some more than others. While it's true that many don't want or like to have hair there, everyone has it and it's nothing to be ashamed about. If you want to shave, wax, get laser removal, those are all fine - but insinuating that we aren't cute for something that is 100% natural, and common was a little annoying to me.

The parts of the book I did like? I really enjoyed the section on butt massage. Dr. Sadie adds in a lot of interesting things you can do with the butt that I hadn't thought about before. I'm a certified Massage Therapist, but I personally have a hang up about using massage in the bedroom. I'm too used to it being a clinical thing, and sometimes I don't connect two and two together. The clear illustrations gave me ideas for how to give my partner a relaxing butt massage, though admittedly I'll probably use better body mechanics than she showed. It's a Massage Therapist thing.

I enjoyed how she talked about strap-on play. I have yet to be in the position to use a strap on with someone for anal play, but it's something I look forward to one day. It's nice to have a head's up before I get there.

I also really enjoyed the section on the prostate. Master isn't into penetration, so again, I haven't been able to play with a prostate and had no idea how you go about things. With this book under my belt, I have some ideas that I hope to try out some day, and, with Master, I have info on how to stimulate his prostate without penetrating him (which is something he isn't interested in).

There is a lot to gain from reading this book if you can get past some of the terminology and condescending attitude Dr. Sadie presents. If you're new to butt play, are in a heterosexual relationship, and want to know more, this might be the right book for you. For me? I learned a couple of new things, but I think that Dr. Sadie caters to a different type of reader than myself. I'm giving the book three paws.Thank you so much, Goodvibes, for sending me this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Burlesque Pasties

Pasties are one of those fun little accessories that lets you feel covered, while still being pretty darned naked.  I own a couple of pairs and they are fun for lots of things.  If you're a burlesque dancer, these Burlesque Pasties   would be a great piece to add to your collection.  If you're uncoordinated (like me), they might just be the trick for the bed room, or a cam session.

Burlesque Pasties

The fun thing about pasties is that they are so versatile.  Many women wear them under shirts which are sheer so that you can't see their nipples.  These particular ones would probably not be the best choice in that sinereo though, because they are bulky and would be more noticeable than a bra.

You can also legally wear these in public in many places.  If you're going to a   Slut Walk or other public protest you can shield your nipples while still feeling mostly naked.  If you're going clubbing, if you're a burlesque dancer, or even if you just want to dress up for that special someone, these pasties are a great choice.

Close Up Of The Sparkles And Bows

Now that you know a little bit about pasties, here's some info on these pasties.  That is why you're reading this, right?  The pasties themselves are very, very sparkly!  They are covered in glitter, and it's a bit hard to see that from the picture where I'm wearing them, so I also included a close up of the pasties themselves, above.  They catch the light in person wonderfully, and make each breast look like a little present.  I love the soft satin bows too.  They are large enough to cover the pasty themselves, but they are not so big as to look funny.  The pasties are two and a half inches across, and should fit a wide variety of nipples.

If you've never used pasties before, you're probably wondering how you get them to stay on.  These ones have adhesive on the back of them.  There's also a thin plastic film, so you just peel the film off and stick these to your nipples.  Press it firmly for about ten seconds, and you're good to go.  If you're just using these in the bedroom, that will probably be enough stick for you.  However, if you're going to wear these out of the house for any reason, you'll probably need to go one extra step, and use double sided sticky tape.  I found that on their own, these pasties just don't stick for long without needing some extra help (constant pressing to get them to stick to your skin).  The adhesive is just too weak, but if you're not going to be wearing them long anyway, it won't matter.

What do you do with the double sided sticky tape?  It's best to make a triangle inside the pasty with it like this:  /_\, Then you just press the pasty over your nipples and you're guaranteed to have them stick unless you want them to come off.  I will say though, that if you have sensitive nipples that the double sided sticky tape might be a bit uncomfortable to take off.  I've never had marks left over from the tape or anything like that, and so long as you place the tape on the outside edges of the pasty instead of right over your nipple itself, you'll probably be fine.  Just a head's up.  When you're done wearing them, use the same plastic that comes over the back of the pasties to cover the back again.  This way the sticky part will stay clean, and you can easily just pull off the double sided tape and add some new tape before your next use.  These will be reusable again and again.

These pasties are just so fun and fancy, and have such a classic look!  I love them.  I would give them five paws if the adhesive was just a bit stronger, but everything else about them rocks my world.  4 sparkly paws it is:

Thank you so much, Babeland, for sending me these great pasties in exchange for an honest and fair review

Rub Me Massage Bar

Master and me have always loved giving and receiving massages.  (Who doesn't?!)  But, we never really found them to be as much of a necessity until moving to a high altitude mountain city.  Dry skin runs rampant in this household now, and we're always looking for new and more creative ways to get moisture and massages in without making a mess.  While perusing the wonderful sex toys  store MyPleasure, I noticed these great little Rub Me Massage bars.  I'll admit I was a bit skeptical, but also curious, and I wanted to give it a shot.

Pomegranite Mint Massage Bar

The bar comes in two scents: Pomegranate Mint and French Vanilla.  The one I got was the pomegranate mint, and it smells amazing!  I definitely smell the mint, but to be honest, it doesn't smell like pomegranate to me.  It definitely has a sort of fruity aroma, and I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but Master and me both think it smells awesome.

The bar is made from simple ingredients, you can count them on one hand: cocoa butter, shea butter, and fragrance oil.  If you're sensitive to any of those ingredients, you should stay away.  However, the bar should be suitable for most people.

When the bar arrived, I knew it was here because I could smell it through the box!  If strong smells are a problem or a migraine trigger for you, this may not be the right massage bar for you.  The packaging it comes in is just a simple foil wrapper with a sticker on it.  If you take the sticker off carefully, you can re-use the wrapper when you put the bar away.  If not, you can do what I did and just put this in a ziplock bag for in between massages.

The Rub Me bar is simple to use.  It is designed to melt as it warms up to body temperature.  You could just rub it right onto the body you're massaging, but Master and me found it easier to just rub it directly into your hands before you apply your hands to the area you're going to massage.  If you rub the bar directly on the area you're massaging, we found that it took a couple extra minutes to warm up and melt.  Either way is fine if it works for you, though.

When performing the actual massage, we found that this works really well!  The ingredients provide you with plenty of glide without using up too much of the bar, and the bar doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or sticky.  If you used too much, you can wash this off with soap and water without too much work, but it will still leave your skin with a faint smell even after scrubbing.  Luckily for me, I love the scent and don't mind one bit!

Exactly how many massages your bar will work for depends greatly on what you're massaging.  The web site says that the bar is good for ten or more uses.  I think that if you're doing foot or hand massages, or even just back massages, then you'll probably be able to make the bar last even longer.  Full body massages will obviously make your bar dwindle quicker.   We've used the bar several times, mainly for calf and neck massages (our two most tense zones), and there is still more than half of our bar left.  These are pretty inexpensive for how long they last though, so you could always just buy another one when you run out.

Overall, Master and me really love the bar we got.  It smells absolutely wonderful, and makes your skin feel nice and soft without leaving it feeling greasy.  I'm giving it 5 paws:Thank you so much, MyPleasure, for letting me try out one of your great massage products in exchange for an honest and fair review.
