Meet Betty! Or, The Normandy, we sort of haven’t decided yet. XD

Last night we got a new car!  ACTUALLY new!  When we went to pick her up, she literally had fifteen miles on her.  Oh man, sweet!  I’ve personally never owned a brand new car, and Master hasn’t owned one in a long while.

I was so excited, I wanted to take a picture of her before we pulled out with her to take her home.  Isn’t she pretty?  She’s a 2009 KIA Rio, and we’re so excited.  We both thought about naming her “Blue” initially, but I have a toy named that, so that couldn’t work.

We thought about how she drove, and how cute and small she was, and I came up with the idea to call her “Bettie.”  Might sound a bit weird, but we were naming her after a rig in Gears of War 2.  We were out doing some errands this morning, and I remembered I was wearing my Mass Effect jacket.  It got me to thinking, and I said:  “You know, maybe we should have named her “The Normandy,” after the main ship you’re on throughout the game.  Well, Master likes it, but we kind of also feel like she looks like a “Bettie”.  Needless to say, we’re still deciding, I guess.

Anyway, to celebrate we went out to a Chinese food buffet we passed while on the way home.  It was fun, and the people there were so sweet and nice.  Love it.  I think we’ll probably wind up going back there soon.

And now, more pictures of Bettie!  Or the Normandy!  Who knows?!  lol.  We’ll figure it out soon, I’m sure.

Yeah, there’s some “junk” in her “trunk”. 🙂

Woot!  Yay!  We haven’t had a car in about three years, and it is so good to be mobile again. This morning we drove to the store.  Drove!  It took us twenty minutes to get there.

  1. How about both? Betty Normandy 🙂 That way you get the best of both names, lol. I remember my first car was named Celeritas (it means "Swiftness" in Latin)

It's a really pretty car and I'm glad you all were able to get it 🙂 Congrats on being mobile after three years
