Master’s Birthday!

The third of May was Master’s birthday!  Woot.  It was such a long day for me, because I just wanted the day to end so bad so we could go celebrate, lol.  We went out to see “How to Train Your Dragon.  I was thinking at first that it might be too young for me, but it was a cute movie.  The beginning was a little slow, but all in all it was really cute.  I’m sure a lot of you are thinking Master chose a cutesy cartoon movie for me, so that I would have fun.  Nope.  He actually really loves cartoons and Disney types of movies.  Sometimes I’m even a little annoyed at the types of movies we see in the theatre.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not often, but it’s not as easy lately to find a cartoon movie which is also fun for adults.  Too many of them lately have just been so..  I dunno, juvenile.  Not enough “smart” humor.  How to train your Dragon was really cute though and we had fun with it.

After we went out to see the movie, Master had picked out a restaurant to go to.  He even called ahead and everything.  We showed up an hour before they close, and the doors were locked and we could see them inside vacuuming.  WTH?  Master even called ahead to confirm that they were going to be open and everything.  Frustrated with the fact that the new restaurant was closed, we went to an old favorite Bucca di Beppo.  We called ahead of course to make sure it was going to be open (they were open until 10PM), and headed on over.

Master ordered a small (which is enough to feel several people!!) spaghetti marinara, a meatball for him (the meatballs are a full half pound of meat!), a lemon lime basil mojito for me, and they even gave him a giant cupcake because of his birthday.  It was a really nice dinner, and we both had a lot of fun.  <3

Yesterday Master was able to work remotely so that he could take me to an ultra sound.  Nothing major, just a check up to see if I have any more cysts growing in my ovaries.  We’re not sure right now what the results were, I’m still waiting for my doctor to call and let me know.  We’ll see though.

Since Master was home yesterday, we opted to take the car to the dealership because we needed to have the tire pressure light recalibrated.  While we waited for the recalibration (which took an hour), we walked around in the sun to get our walk out of the way.  It was really sunny and nice out, too.  After the car got taken care of, we went to the grocery store to get some mojito ingredients.  We still haven’t perfected the recipe, but we’re working on it!  Lol.

Today, Master wanted me to just work on clips, and that’s what I’m going to do.  My teeth don’t bother me most of the time, but little things like hard food or yawning makes things a bit uncomfy.  Because of that Master has me on my “sick kitty” schedule.  Lol.  Sounds kind of silly to put it like that, but when I’m sick he basically lets me sleep in to let my body heal.  I still do chores and work though, unless I’m really sick, which I’m not right now.  We’re just trying to make sure I don’t put anything in my mouth until it is healed up for sure.

Yesterday was also my Dad’s birthday.  It’s always hard to talk on the phone with my Dad, because he has aphasia.  That basically means that he can think perfectly fine, and the words are in his head, but he can’t get them out of his mouth. 🙁  It’s hard to wish him a Happy Birthday when all he can say really is: “Hey!”  and “Thank you!” Over and over but it is still great to hear his voice.  I can’t wait to visit everyone back home in December.  Just about seven months left.

So yeah, a good couple of days!

Mew mew!

  1. My aphasia drives me nuts. Luckily I can usually type. Speaking can be a different story some days but mine is much more minor and more funny. I end up saying the most absurd things w/o realizing it when I'm really sick or have a migraine. My empathy goes out to both of you.

I was wondering how that movie would be. I might add it to the queue now.
