Yesterday was my six month dental check up.  In all my life, I’ve never gone to the dentist and not had a cavity.  I was nervous that there were going to be some, and I do NOT enjoy getting cavities filled at all.  (Who does?)  Anyway, the appointment was really quick, easy, and mostly painless.  I had NO cavities.  You really have no idea how happy that makes me.  I was bouncing off the walls with happy! 🙂  When I got home, I had to wait an hour before Master got home, and he told me he was so happy about my appointment that he was going to get me a sugary treat as a “job well done”.  He took me to Whole Foods and let me pick out any ONE item from the huge bakery section.  I was completely torn between a cream puff (My weakness!  Just ask my mom!) and a cupcake with icing that looked like a lion.  Master decided for me, because I was taking too long and bought BOTH!  >.<

Me 'n my tiger cup cake! I had to take the picture myself, so that's why it's such weird angles. Ha ha.

I would show you what the cream puff looked like but I, uh, ate it.  *Blush*  I’m actually working on the lion cup cake as I type this, almost a day later.  I think I’ll freak if I see any more junk food within the next month.  I probably should not speak so soon though.  We’re going to an anime convention next week, which means junk food for sure.  >.<

With cupcake in my belly, I decided to start on another Day Zero Project goal.  Skimming the list, I have more than half of my tasks left!  One of them stuck out to me, and is something I’ve been working on for a while anyway.  #18, update my wardrobe!  Step #1 is going through the closet and figuring out what is just plain too big.  For a while, I had to get by on things my parents picked up for me at thrift stores and Wal-Mart clothes.  (Please see post previous to this one.)  None of the things I’ve been wearing have really been my “style”.  Actually, they haven’t had any style at all!  90% of my clothes for day-time wear were things like jogging pants and loose shirts.  A style I personally hate.  Not that it seemed to matter.  I got along quite fine in the jogging city I live in.  Almost everyone I see is in pajamas or jogging clothes.  This didn’t bother Master either, what with his spandex fetish and all.

It bothered me though.  I like things which are slutty looking, form fitting, and edgy.  I’m very picky when it comes to actual clothing.  I won’t buy something just because it fits, or just because the style is right.  I’ll spend all day looking for a pair of pants in the mall, or online, or wherever I am, and come home with either 1 or no items sometimes.  I know lots of people aren’t like that, but honestly, if something doesn’t fit and doesn’t look a certain way, I’m not buying it no matter how cool it looks.  Or vice versa.  It has to be perfect.  I will be the first to admit that I am a bit of a pack rat, (I prefer the term Hobbit) so if it comes home with me, it’s going to stay there for quite a while.  Yeah, I’m picky, but better to be picky than surrounded by junk or stuff I will NOT wear.

I went through the closets and threw away anything to junky to wear, and made a big pile of things which were too large to wear.  Some of the things are getting donated, and some of them are getting torn apart to sew new things.  (I love DIY).  Before I did this, the closet was basically jam-packed with pajamas and other too big clothes that I wouldn’t wear in public.  Here’s what it looks like now:

Tons of empty space
Oh look! Even more empty space. >.<

I’m not sure if it’ll be today or tomorrow (I’ve been feeling a little sick for a few hours now.  Nothing major.  Hopefully I’m just tired and it’s not a cold or flu coming on) but we’re going to Plato’s Closet because Master needs a few more things for his costume before we go to NDK next week.  I’m gonna start looking there. 🙂  I’m sure this goal will probably take me forever, but we’ll see.

Oh!  And tomorrow there’ll be a BlogTvshow at 1PM mountain time.  I just wanted to spread the word that it’ll probably be less interactive than our normal BlogTv shows.  We’re actually going to be able to do the ballet boot training this time, so I don’t think the show will last a full hour, either.  Basically, Master is going to help me with my ballet boots, and we’ll be on BlogTV at the same time, but it’ll be more like a keyhole looking in.  While the actual training is going on, we’ll be a lot less able to answer questions and chat back.  We’ll see though. 🙂  Should be fun either way.  Come on by and check it out if you’re free.  <3

  1. Woo Hoo, no cavities!! Congrats sweetie. Be sure and ask your dentist about the sonic toothbrush next week 🙂

Bummed I’m going to miss this week’s blog tv. Record it if you can.

You two have a great 3 day weekend. *hug*

  2. Took me a bit to read this.
I think it is great that you’re redoing your wardrobe in a way that suits your style.
I don’t have a personal style and I’ve been trying to find one. So far, I’m limited to what I can find that I can afford and that fits. Until recently I didn’t even care all that much about fit. Too small was bad but I didn’t think clothes could be too big. That was till my GI system became affected and I found out that clothes could be dangerously too big. h

Getting a ‘safe’ wardrobe in turns of fit really taught me that well fitting clothing really makes a person look better. It was so nice to learn, I just wish I didn’t wait till I was 32 to learn it. 🙂

Have fun. I really hope you enjoy the clothing making and getting. 🙂
