“Kitty, Do You Want Your Laptop?”

“No thank you, I don’t think so.”

::Five seconds go by::

“I’ll get your laptop.”

“But why? I don’t have much to say?”

“About today. You have to blog about the day.”

“I’ll try, Master.”

I didn’t want to go to the hospital today. I panic every time I go to the hospital, mainly because hospitals are dumb and I’m not a fan of… Any of it? I spent a good portion of the drive down wondering how necessary any of it was. The scan I needed.

“Do I really need this scan, Master?”

“Measure twice, cut once. What if something changed?”

“Yes, but they have a scan from six months or so ago. This just feels like extra radiation.”

“Okay, but hernias can change. You want him to go in there blind?”

“No. I’m on my way to get the scan. I just. Don’t want to. I don’t wanna get irradiated for the millionth time for what I think will probably be not any new (or probably not much new) information from less than a year ago? Can’t they just use the most recent scan? Ugh.”

“Better to have the best information before they cut you up.”

“Yeah. I’m going. I just don’t like it.”

Literally.

But, somehow the drive down was incredibly easy and I got there in less than an hour when it would ordinarily take two. That’s lucky. I got up to check-in and despite being an hour earlier than need be, I literally managed to fail to finish my paperwork before they called me back. I mean, I was quick enough but they brought me back nearly an hour early. Gosh! At least they weren’t grumpy or anything about it.

Master Pravus had managed to get me accessed the night before. And on top of that, we managed to have a CT rated needle kicking around, which meant I didn’t need to get an extra IV. The team doing the CT were wicked nice, which was good. They let Master Pravus come back with me, which is always hit or miss. He was able to help me into an out of my hernia binder, which is also good. And on top of that the scan itself was fine. I did seem to have a reaction to the CT contrast which was something that’s never, ever happened to me before. I’ve had so many CTs in my life and never had a problem, but after it infused I got the shakes, and it took about an hour for them to go away. I didn’t like that at all. I hope it doesn’t happen again in the future. >.> It’s just. Thinking I’ll never need another CT scan is kind of a tall order, when I literally still have implanted devices. It’s unlikely. So. I just hope that never happens again. Do Not Want.

So I guess that’s it for now, really. I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything outside of the house until my surgery next week. I do have a bunch of things that I want to accomplish before surgery, but I’m trying to pace myself and just do my best. We’ll see how it all goes.
