Behemoth Blanket

It’s been about a year and a half since I did a progress update on the blankie I am crocheting for Master Pravus. Maybe closer to two years, really. It’s huge now! Well, it feels huge now, but it’s still not exactly done, or close to done. It’s so large though that it feels heavy and doesn’t fit on the couch comfortably when I crochet it. And I need help turning it when I get to the ends.

But I have been meaning to haul it upstairs (well, ask Master Pravus if he would help me haul it upstairs) and see how far it was getting towards covering the bed up. I asked him how far up the bed he thought it would go. “Maybe 50% of the way,” he told me. I thought the same thing, actually.

Together, we unrolled it and stood back. Yeah, it’s a tiny bit less than halfway up the bed (but it’s hard to tell from this angle). Still, even without seeing the exact percentage, you can see the colors he’s choosing in what order. You can see some of my little mistakes too. This is my second blankie ever ever, so there are some, there will be more, and I’m still proud of it. Some of the mistakes I corrected as I went, and some I didn’t see until way too late.

Most of the mistakes were made when I first started out the blanket, but now I feel a little better at this and I don’t make as many. Or, when I make them, I catch them in time to fix. I still kind of wonder how long it will take to finish the whole thing. It’s been so very long already! Here’s the current progress update shot:
